Fresh local produce and fish available from 6am – 12pm at the Showgrounds, just 200 metres from the Hostel. Also 2nd hand books and other books for browsing.
Sunday
Victoria Street is partially closed for these colourful markets. Arts and crafts, locally made items and entertainment. Many of the specallity shops in the city heart open until 12pm while the market is on.
Shops of interest – for some salted licorice and other sweets, try Marykes Kando in Victoria Street. The sweets are found at the rear of the shop.
Paper Chain Book Store
Located in Sydney Street is an old fashioned 2nd hand shop usually stocking foreign language novels. Great for browsing.
Caneland Central Shopping Centre
Clothing replacements may be found in the many budget priced shops in "Canelands", just 200 metres from the Hostel.
